Hi Roger,

It's working for me now, looks like the connection is fixed. Thanks for the additional link. Very neat how you have combined the data analysis strengths of the PivotViewer with the spatial capabilities of Bing Maps. The clustering really helps keep the map clean when zoomed out.

I have put together a proof-of-concept pivot collection for a study I am working on to analyze a couple thousand graphs. If I get approval to proceed further in the next week or two, I would like to put a few finishing touches on the tool, such as being able to filter specific items to show their geotaged Flickr images on a Bing map. If you might be interested in participating on this assignment, please let me know and I'll send you log in instructions to the site and we can explore scope.

Cheers,

Hi Matt,
It looks like there is a problem with the Flickr connection which I hope to resolve soon. If you want to see an example of combining maps with PivotViewer then have a look at our PASS Chapters Pivot - <a href="http://pivot.lobsterpot.com.au/PASSChapters" title="PASS Chapter" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://pivot.lobsterpot.com.au/PASSChapters</a> you'll see an additional button in the views tool bar that will allow you to switch to the Maps view.
Cheers

Hi Roger,

Great work what you are doing with powerful data visualizations.

I'm very interested in combining flickr with pivotviewer. For some reason when I try loading http://pivot.lobsterpot.com.au/flickr after a few seconds of loading it just displays a bar at the top (on both Chrome 18 or IE 9) with:

http://pivot.lobsterpot.com.au/CXML/Flickr/pivot.cxml#%24facet0%24=Photo%20Tags&%24view%24=2

I have silverlight 5.0.61118.0 and have been able to view other pivotviews and can use bing maps. Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Hi, I'd suggest you check out http://www.silverlight.net/learn/pivotviewer/just-in-time-sample-code/ for a start in JIT collections. As part of my series on customising PivotViewer I plan to cover how the Flickr JIT collection was done, so stay tuned.

Amazing... I'm working on a project where I'd like to list all of the local business and their information from bing in a normal pivot layout. Idea on the code I'd need for JIT from bing maps?
